The International Study Centre is looking forward to welcoming you. Beginning your new life in the UK is exciting and can be overwhelming – here is what to expect when you arrive.

Course registration

Please bring the following documents so we can register you on the course:

  • Passport and visa
  • Evidence of your Secure English Language Test
  • UKVI Decision Letter
  • Sponsor letter (if you are being sponsored)
  • If you are under the age of 18, a copy of your UK Guardian’s details

Have a look at the essential pre-arrival tasks to complete so you are well-prepared in advance.

Once you have registered with the University, you will get your student card and have access to the University’s internet network.

Get ready for your Induction Programme – it will give you a complete introduction to the UK, the University, and the International Study Centre. Our friendly staff will give you a tour of the University Campus and you will be able to meet other students on your course.

You will also learn about opening a bank account, obtaining your Biometric Residence Permit, sports facilities, and your chosen programme. Make sure you have your timetable and understand what is expected of you to progress to the University.

Say hello

Talk to people you meet, your neighbours, and ask our International Study Centre team any questions you might have. Join as many clubs and societies as you can. The International Study Centre will also be organising plenty of events and activities for you to get to know your new home better.
