We are pleased to welcome our first cohort of students to the Durham University International Study Centre.
Our new international students will be arriving in the country to begin an activity-filled induction week on 11 September. Students will participate in activities such as the Selfie Tour of Stockton-on-Tees and the Durham University sports tasters.
On arrival, students will follow a detailed programme that will introduce them to the staff and teachers who will be supporting them throughout their studies at the International Study Centre.
More that 400 new students will begin their studies at the International Study Centre this September with staff helping them to become familiar with the campus and surrounding area. Living on campus will enrich student life.
The many activities offered to our students will help them settle into life in the UK and make friends. At the end of the induction week students will be able to attend a waterside social evening with a live band, buffet and quiz. Students can also visit the Preston Hall Museum and Grounds and take on thrill seeking activities at Air Trail, an adventure course over 18m high with rope bridges and zip rails.
Preparation for academic success
Induction week is just the beginning of how we help students prepare for academic success at Durham University. The University has retained a world top 100 position by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2018 and a position of 4th in the UK by the Guardian University Guide 2018.
Students at the International Study Centre will be supported through their International Foundation Year or Pre-Masters programme as they strengthen their academic and English skills before progressing to the University.
